Aerospace Sub-Assembly Technician – Orlando, Florida
VP Aviation is hiring an Aerospace Sub-Assembly Technician in Orlando, Florida, supporting the build and wiring of high-reliability assemblies used in aviation and defense applications. This contract role offers a 4/10 first-shift schedule, competitive pay, and the potential for contract-to-hire conversion after 12 months based on performance milestones.

Position Overview
As an Aerospace Sub-Assembly Technician, you will assemble and wire components such as power-distribution boxes, control and communication panels, joysticks, and mechanical sub-assemblies. You will read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs while performing wire routing, stripping, crimping, and soldering tasks. Additionally, you will install LEDs, switches, push-buttons, handles, and related hardware. Transitioning between tasks is important, and technicians must maintain proper documentation within the MRP system.
Responsibilities

Build, wire, and inspect electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies

Perform crimping, soldering, torque operations, and wire dressing

Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work instructions

Install LEDs, switches, connectors, and fasteners

Document work in the MRP system

Follow 6S/Kaizen continuous-improvement methods

Maintain safety and quality standards at all times
Qualifications
Required:
-
2–4 years of assembly experience (aerospace, defense, industrial, or automotive)

Proficiency with electrical assembly, crimping, soldering, and torque tools

Ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions

High-school diploma
Preferred:

IPC-610 certification
-
OSHA-10

Associate degree or additional trade coursework
