VP Aviation is hiring for an Avionics Technician job in Opa-locka FL to support business jet maintenance operations at KOPF. This position begins as a contract role with the opportunity to transition to a direct hire position.
This opportunity is open to Entry-Level, Junior, and Senior Avionics Technicians. Preference is given to candidates with EMB 135/145 experience, though all qualified avionics professionals are encouraged to apply.
Avionics Technician Job Overview
This role supports business aviation maintenance in a professional hangar environment. Technicians are responsible for completing assigned avionics work in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and company procedures.

Pay Range: $1,000–$2,000 per week, based on experience
Avionics Technician Responsibilities

Complete all required steps associated with the assigned avionics work scope

Ensure work is accomplished in accordance with company procedures (RSQCM), manufacturer maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations

Document maintenance discrepancies and take corrective action as required

Use Pitot-static system test equipment, including IFR 4000 and IFR 6000

Read and interpret aircraft system wiring diagrams and engineering prints

Perform basic troubleshooting of aircraft avionics systems

Communicate parts, material, workmanship, or airworthiness concerns to the Avionics Manager

Provide detailed shift turnover reports including work progress and open items

Properly tag and store aircraft components, parts, and panels

Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

Supply and maintain sufficient hand tools

Perform additional duties as assigned
Avionics Technician Requirements

Avionics experience with the ability to troubleshoot aircraft avionics systems

Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including guidance from the
Federal Aviation Administration -
Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical data and wiring diagrams

Effective written and verbal communication in English

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe

Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds

Availability for domestic and international travel as required
