Typical Responsibilities
Technicians working in Aviation Sheet Metal Assembly roles may perform the following in aircraft manufacturing and production environments:

Assemble aircraft structural components and sheet metal parts

Perform drilling, deburring, countersinking, and riveting operations
-
Use tools such as pneumatic drills, rivet guns, reamers, countersinks, and rivet shavers
-
Read blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions
-
Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, and fasteners
-
Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
-
Record work performed through shop documentation or production systems
-
Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all safety procedures
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
-
At least 5 years of aircraft sheet metal or structural assembly experience
-
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings
-
Experience using sheet metal tools and riveting equipment
-
Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math
-
Basic computer skills for recording work or labor tracking
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to climb ladders or stands and work in confined spaces
-
Must be able to read, write, and understand English
Experience working in aircraft manufacturing or OEM production environments is preferred.
