Aircraft Mechanic – Heavy Modifications
VP Aviation is hiring an A&P Mechanic in Andalusia, Alabama for a major aircraft modification program. This Aircraft Mechanic opportunity is ideal for candidates with significant heavy modification experience on Boeing, Airbus, military, commercial, or rotary-wing aircraft.
This position focuses on aircraft modifications upgrades.

A&P Mechanic Job Responsibilities
As an Aircraft Mechanic supporting aircraft modification programs, you may perform:
- Aircraft modification and upgrade work
- Installation and removal of aircraft systems and components
- Structural modifications and engineering changes
- Aircraft disassembly and reassembly
- Operational and functional testing
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and maintenance manuals
- Documentation of completed maintenance and modification work
- Coordination with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Compliance with company, customer, and FAA requirements
A&P Mechanic Qualifications
To qualify for this A&P Mechanic position, candidates should have:
- Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
- Significant aircraft modification experience required
- Heavy modification experience on Boeing, Airbus, military, commercial, or rotary-wing aircraft highly preferred
- Experience performing aircraft upgrades, retrofits, installations, or engineering changes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Experience working in modification, heavy maintenance, production, completion, depot, or MRO environments
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and safety practices
Work Schedule
Current operations support first shift with additional shift opportunities expected as production requirements increase.
Candidates should be flexible and willing to work either day or night shifts as needed.
